Features: These giant crabs come straight from the Barents Sea in Norway. This population of species have been steadily increasing there as opposed to their native home in Alaska. They are difficult to come by as fishing regulations limit the catching quota. They can grow to have up to a 6 foot long leg-span.

Species: Paralithodes camtschaticus

Origin: Norway

Flavor Profile: Delicate, rich, and sweet, with flaky, moist meat.

Spec: Burgundy when alive, and bright red when cooked, these giant crabs are a delicacy that are difficult to come by due to fishing regulations. They can be used for in a variety of methods including steaming or broiling.

Season: Most abundant October through January.
